The Indian nation hits the road for the first time this season Friday night. Bridgeport faces Lewis County in south Weston. I think the next four weeks will go a long way in dictating the type of season the Indians will have. First off, the Minutemen are much improved over past seasons and head coach Eddie Vincent seems to have Lewis playing with more confidence.
After opening the season with a big win over Liberty, Lewis County hit a wall last Friday at Grafton and had no answer for the Bearcats new high powered spread offense. This game will mark the first home encounter for Lewis this season and conversely the first road game for the young Indians. The challenge will only be made harder with the likely hood that senior leader Mike Workman will miss the game with a shoulder injury suffered in the Byrd win.
Following the Lewis trip the Indians will return home for a big measuring stick game against DC's Calvin Coolidge. The East Fairmont and a trip to Wheeling Park looms.
Off topic but Indians Radio Crew member Jim Dodrill sent me an interesting link this week highlighting some of the rule differences from college to high school. I have linked the site on my MetroNews blog here
